Editorial policy
Trusted Spotlight aims to make its explanations accurate, transparent and proportionate to the material available. We explain our reasoning and correct meaningful errors when we find them.
Accuracy and context
Writers should check names, quotations and factual details against suitable sources, and make clear when a statement is an interpretation rather than a directly supported fact. Examples should retain enough context to avoid giving a misleading impression. When evidence is limited or a point remains uncertain, we say so rather than implying a stronger conclusion.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial relationship. A partner cannot buy a favourable editorial judgement or decide the conclusions in an independently produced piece.
Corrections
If you spot a material error, use the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests, check the relevant material and update a piece when a change is warranted. Where a significant correction is made, we make the change clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid or partner-produced material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Any commercial relationship relevant to a piece is disclosed. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where they are, they are identified as such and are not presented as documentary evidence.
Attention is not the same as proof.
We slow down the claims that arrive with confidence and look for the context that helps readers judge them for themselves.
